Compatibility Notes

Match your shank size. A 2" receiver requires a 2" shank ball mount. A 2.5" receiver (3/4-ton+) needs a 2.5" shank. Mismatching causes slop and failure.
Weight distribution is for bumper pull only. Fifth-wheel and gooseneck hitches distribute weight differently through the truck bed — never use a WD system with bed-mounted hitches.
7-way wiring unlocks electric brakes. If your trailer has electric brakes (most over 3,000 lbs), you need both a 7-way connector and a brake controller. The 4-way won't power them.
Safety chains are always required. Even with a fifth-wheel or gooseneck, chains provide the critical secondary connection. Cross them under the coupler in an X pattern.
